NEW PRY-OFF CROWN KEEPS ABITA BEER FRESHER Technology keeps oxygen out and protects flavor (Abita Springs, LA) The Abita Brewing Company has introduced new technology designed to keep Abita Beer fresher by blocking oxygen intrusion into the bottles. The process introduces innovative barrier crown technology to all Abita brews. The new pry-off crown offers an increased barrier to oxygen due to its density and the special properties of the crown liner. I appreciate Abita looking out for the freshness of the beer in my fridge, but I am disappointed that I will no longer be able to collect Abita beer caps since pry-offs are bent on opening the beer.

Great, I have church keys everywhere. Most mircobrew beers have the traditional caps to protect flavor I glad to see Abita is getting away from the twist off to a more secure cap. As a promotion, maybe you could include an opener with the new style caps for a limited time. Thanks again, G. Buck

I went to French Quarter fest with my trusty 6 pack of Abita Strawberry Brew and not knowing until there the tops were pry off. Luckily I had a tube of chapstick in my pocket. Who knew that chapstick would pry off beer tops??
