Starting on the day we produced our very first keg of Abita Beer, we have understood our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen.

This year we will donate more beer and root beer to various charities and fundraising events than we brewed in our first year of business. In addition to our in-kind support, we have also launched several highly successful fundraising events.

Abita SOS — Save Our Shore

Less than 60 days after the April 2010 explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico, the first bottles of Abita SOS® (Save Our Shore) - A Charitable Pilsner rolled off the production line at the brewery. We donate 75 cents from every bottle sold to a charitable fund established by Abita that assists with the rescue and restoration of the environment, industry and individuals fighting to survive the disastrous oil spill.

To date, over $500,000 has been raised for the cause. Donations from the fund have fed fishermen and their families, restored critical wetland habitats along the coast and made Christmas a little brighter for struggling families.

100% of the net proceeds from related retail merchandise also goes to the SOS Fund. Online donations can also be made directly to the fund.

Abita Restoration Ale

Immediately following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita we created Abita Restoration Pale Ale®. Our brewery was miraculously spared any catastrophic damage and we made the decision to help others by doing what we do best…making beer. One dollar from every six-pack of Restoration Pale Ale® was donated to the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation. Abita Restoration Pale Ale® contributed $550,000 to the recovery effort.

Abita Abbey Ale

Abita Abbey Ale honors the ancient traditions of monks who perfected the art of brewing beer to support the monastery. Abita offers up their support and thanks to the brothers at nearby St. Joseph's Abbey and Seminary College in Covington, Louisiana with a 25-cent donation with every bottle sold of this heavenly brew. The program has raised thousands of dollars for the local monastery, which has provided educational, cultural and spiritual support to those in need for over 100 years.

Abita Restoration Pale Ale® Funds Park Revitalization

David Blossman, President of the Abita Brewing Company, presented a check for $115,000 for a major expansion to the historic Abita Springs Tourist Park in the heart of town.

This donation created the Abita Brewing Company Restoration Plaza, an outdoor performance amphitheatre and underwrote the cost of a new playground in the park. “This wonderful donation from Abita Beer will help us move forward with our plans to create a multi-use park and trailhead at the center of town,” said Mayor Fitzmorris. “Earlier this year our signature pavilion was moved to a new location within the park and the historic Longbranch Building was relocated to this site as a museum,” continued Fitzmorris. “Townspeople and visitors have gathered in this spot since the 1880s. First for our famous spring water and more recently to enjoy the Tammany Trace,” said the Mayor. “Hurricane Katrina nearly destroyed the pavilion and the park.

We thank the Abita Brewing Company for these exciting additions to our town,” concluded the mayor.

20th Anniversary Pilsner

In 2006, the Abita Brewing Company celebrated 20 years of making Louisiana’s favorite beer by throwing the biggest birthday party the Crescent City had ever witnessed.

Thousands of our friends and fans turned out for the party and helped us raise $20,000 for the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s Employee Relief Fund. The fund was established to help displaced food service workers come home and return to their jobs. It was the best birthday present we’ve ever received.

Double IPA

In 2018, Abita Brewing Company along with the Louisiana Craft Brewers Guild teamed up to create the first installment of it's Ensemble Series - a Double IPA. This recipe was concocted by a team from 33 different Louisiana brewery. Abita was the host brewery for their inaugural year. Abita donated $7 from every case sold to the Louisiana Craft Brewers Guild to help further fund their mission to increase awareness of the benefits Louisiana craft beer has to offer.

Resilience IPA

In 2019, Abita Brewery teamed up with Sierra Nevada to brew their recipe of the Resilience IPA. This IPA was created as a means to help raise funds to help the victims of the one of California's deadliest wildfires, affecting employees of the Sierra Nevada Chico brewery. 100% of the proceeds from this brew will go directly to the Camp Fire Relief Fund to aid those impacted by the Camp Fire.

Son Of A Saint Collab
