ABITA BEER BREAD

April 23, 2008

Submitted by Cherry Jochum, Baton Rouge, LA

This is the very best bread-machine recipe and the beauty is you can use any Abita Beer product: fresh or leftover. My trick is that I substitute the water in the recipe and use an entire cup of Abita Beer in the recipe. This recipe is tried and true and I have used it for nearly a decade with a terrific end product.

It is my family’s favorite bread. A quick, delicious and easy recipe when you want fresh bread on any and every occasion.

**Makes 1 loaf

Add the ingredients to the bread machine in the following order:

1 cup Abita Beer (any type or seasonal at room temperature)
½ tablespoons oil
1/8 cup (2 tablespoons) granulated sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 package active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoon)

I recommend the basic bread setting on any manufacturer bread machine. If given the choice, you can select normal or dark. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for making the bread in your bread machine.
