Louisiana's original craft brewery since 1986

The Abita Brewing Company is nestled in the piney woods 30 miles north of New Orleans, Louisiana. In its first year, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer. We had no idea what we started. Local Louisianians and tourists alike, all loved our beers! By 1994, we outgrew the original site (Still open as a 100-seat brew pub and restaurant) and moved up the road to a larger facility to keep up with demand.

Today…

we are still brewing exceptional ales and lagers but also small batch root beer, sodas, hop water and whatever else we are inspired to brew! Always in small batches, hand-crafted and brewed for the Louisiana way of life, full flavored and easy drinking. Our local pride, along with our brewing process and years of experience, are what makes our one of a kind beverages so good.

We like to say that Abita Brewing Company is Louisiana Culture on Tap. After all, life is always better with good food, good people, good music, and a good beverage in your hand.

It all starts with our water.

Great water makes great beer. In Abita Springs, we are blessed with the purest of water. Abita Springs is THE source of our water and our origin. Drawn from our deep wells, our pristine artesian water is not altered in any way. Our water has all the right minerals, and is naturally soft from the source.

Abita Beer has no preservatives, additives or stabilizers and is cold filtered. The result is beer that is always the finest and freshest-tasting made for the Louisiana way of life. Full flavored and easy drinking.
