Alvin Kamara committed to the New Orleans Saints, and a local beer has committed right back — seriously.
After the Saints running back inked a 2-year extension to stick with the team that drafted him, the Abita beer company posted on its X account that they had a lifetime supply of their product ready to ship out. AK responded, and the company kept up their end.
They shared a video of the shipment going out late last week, and on Monday Kamara shared an image of receipt, along with a badge that bore the title: “Abita’s official loyal king.”
The Saints are currently mired in a six-game losing streak, but it’s by no fault of Kamara’s. Playing through significant injuries, he’s rolled up 812 total yards and 7 touchdowns, and currently sits just 167 rushing yards shy of passing Mark Ingram for No. 1 all time in Saints history.
The Saints drafted Kamara in the third round of the 2017 draft and he’s gone on to rewrite several pages of the Saints record book in the process.
“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, these fans, this organization,” Kamara said after signing his deal. “I mean, just, my career here, I think it’s the icing on the cake to be able to say I won’t have to go anywhere else to play football, just leave it all here.”
